Kelsey is from Mount Olive, New Jersey. She graduated from Towson University in 2019 and majored in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Bioinformatics. As an undergraduate she researched the relationship between diet and epigenetic changes in cancer cells along with shadowing genetic counselors and volunteering for the Crisis Text Hotline. After graduation she spent a year working as a Genetic Counseling Assistant at New Jersey Perinatal Associates. She chose Rutgers because of the long clinical rotations where she can build connections with her supervisors along with being exposed to industry rotations in her final semester. Most helpful in her final decision making was the inviting, supportive community that she felt welcomed into immediately and is excited to contribute to.
