  • About:

Julie Ricca is from Allendale, New Jersey. She graduated from William & Mary in 2021, where she majored in Biology and minored in Psychology. As an undergraduate, she worked as a teaching assistant for Molecular Cell Biology, a Student Career Advisor at the William & Mary Career Center, a confidential peer advocate for survivors of sexual assault and harassment, and as a crisis counselor through Crisis Text Line. During the summer before her senior year, she completed an internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a patient care coordinator. Julie chose to attend Rutgers for the phenomenal reputation and opportunities for strong connections with faculty and local medical professionals. She immediately felt supported and comfortable with the program faculty and leadership. This program is successful, student centered, and forward thinking and educates students to become genetic counselors able to advocate for, support, and empower people to be in control of their lives and health.
