Class of 2023

Katie is from Oceanside, New York and graduated from the University of New Haven in 2018 with bachelor degrees in Forensic Science and Biology, and minors in Chemistry and Psychology. After graduating, Katie worked in an immunology lab at Albert Einstein College of Medicine focusing on HIV research. While working, she had the opportunity to volunteer with the Alzheimer’s Association as a support group facilitator and with the pediatric genetics team at Montefiore, aiding in a research study involving Whole Genome Sequencing as a first-tier testing option. Katie chose Rutgers because of the sense of community and support she felt from the faculty and current students and because of the opportunities that come with attending a small program within a large institution!
