Class of 2024

John "JJ" Scheuring graduated from New York University with his bachelor's in Biology with an emphasis on Genetics and Molecular studies. Prior to coming to Rutgers, he worked at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory as a research assistant for Leemor Joshua Torr's Structural Biology laboratory assisting the team with their research into resolving protein structure. After shadowing St. Francis' Cancer Genetic Counseling team and becoming more exposed to the genetic counseling profession, he then transitioned as a Genetic Counseling Assistant for the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis team at Juno Genetics. He has a strong interest in the industry/laboratory setting and hopes to become a laboratory genetic counselor. Outside of the classroom, JJ enjoys hip-hop dance, exploring New Jersey, reading, and writing poetry.
