Class of 2024
- Sydni Stewart
- About:
Sydni is originally from Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 2021 with a bachelor degree in Biobehavioral Health and a minor in Human Development and Family Studies. Following graduation, Sydni worked as a genetic counseling assistant (GCA) in the Epilepsy and Neurogenetics Initiative Clinic (ENGIN) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. As a GCA, she had the opportunity to aid in a research project involving STXBP1 encephalopathy, which is a rare condition characterized by abnormal brain function and intellectual disability. Sydni is interested in helping underserved populations and finding ways to improve barriers to genetic healthcare. She chose Rutgers because of the collaborative atmosphere among the students and faculty as well as the diversity in clinical rotations.
