- About:
Mylie is originally from Bethlehem, PA and moved to Tampa, FL with her family when she was 16 years old. She graduated from the University of Florida in 2022, where she majored in microbiology and minored in UFTeach science and pathogenesis. As an undergraduate, Mylie participated in MCW’s Genetic Counseling Career Research and Exploration Workshop, interned with the Florida Museum of Natural History, volunteered with the Crisis Text Line, and served as a teaching assistant for Genetics and Genomics in Healthcare. After graduation, she started working as a GCA in Dallas, TX at the UT Southwestern Medical Center Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has a particular interest in educating others about genetics and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community within this space. Mylie chose to go to Rutgers because she immediately felt connected with the faculty and current students.
