- Paige Kalik
- About:
Paige is originally from Irwin, Pennsylvania. She graduated from The University of Akron in 2023 with a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry. While at Akron, she conducted research in a lab focusing on a mutation in HER-2, a protein that has been linked to breast cancer. Additionally, Paige was a diver on the swimming & diving team. With her team, she enjoyed giving back and volunteering within the community, specifically tutoring students at a nearby elementary school and helping with the Special Olympics. Following graduation, she began working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Her experience as a GCA and volunteering with children sparked her interest in pediatrics but is looking forward to exploring more specialties during her training. Paige chose Rutgers because of the unique clinical rotations and the supportive environment fostered by the program leadership and students.
