    Abby is from Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Duquesne University in 2023 where she earned a B.S. in Biology with minors in Public Health and Health and Human services. While at Duquesne, Abby conducted research on the RLN2 gene, studying how variation in the promoter region affects expression of the human relaxin hormone. She also completed an internship at UPMC Children’s hospital of Pittsburgh where she researched aspects of the gene regulatory network of Prader-Willi Syndrome. After graduating, Abby worked as a genetic counseling assistant at UBMD Pediatrics back in her hometown. She is a mental health advocate and volunteers as a crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line. Abby chose Rutgers because of the welcoming environment created by the faculty and the support of everyone involved in RUGCMP.
