Class of 2027 Member

Serena is originally from Avon, Connecticut. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies, minors in Chemistry and Sociology, and a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. During her undergraduate career, she conducted research in a bacteriophage lab where she used phage engineering experiments to modify bacteriophages for therapeutic and research applications. Outside of the lab, she was a member and president of the Genetic Counseling Club, worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate biology courses, and volunteered with the Crisis Text Line. Serena chose Rutgers because of diverse clinical rotations that provide a well-rounded understanding of the profession.
